In a Celebration of the World Cup in South Africa with Music, Grammy award-winning bassist, composer, and vocalist Kumalo possesses a unique musical style reflecting influences from around the world, including South African traditional folk, contemporary jazz, and salsa. Kumalo has collaborated with Paul Simon, Cyndi Lauper, Herbie Hancock, and Randy Brecker, and leaves on tour with “Simon and Garfunkel” following this concert.

Joining Bakithi onstage is vocalist Robbi “K” Kumalo, a powerful lyric soprano and back-up singer for Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross, who for many years has been a major force in bringing a sense of the world community to children’s musical theater.
