Marion Cowings
Jazz singer Marion Cowings, a New York native and master of scat, performed as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic under Leonard Bernstein while still in high school. Mentored by Jon Hendricks, he began his career performing with jazz legends and later partnered with vocalist Kim Kalesti, co-founding NYU’s Vocal Jazz Department. Known for his smooth baritone, Cowings has graced iconic venues like Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, and the Village Vanguard, earning a National Endowment for the Arts Grant and a Clio Award.
Kim Kalesti
New York City artist Kim Kalesti channels her creative vision through watercolor, music, and storytelling, offering profound reflections on life and the human experience. A lifelong artist, Kalesti’s work reveals the struggles and triumphs that shape her journey, resonating with audiences from all walks of life.
An accomplished jazz performer, she thrived in the vibrant 1980s New York scene, collaborating with legends like Dizzy Gillespie and Clark Terry. As part of a vocal duet with Marion Cowings, she recorded two acclaimed albums featuring jazz greats like Kenny Barron and Eddie Gomez.
