Flushing Town Hall (circa 1862) is excited to partner with Archtober, New York City’s Architecture and Design Month, the annual festival of architecture activities, programs, and exhibitions taking place during the month of October, and with AIA Queens and Queens Foundation for Architecture! Flushing Town Hall (FTH) was built in Germany’s Rundbogenstil ("round arch style")in 1862, during the Civil War Era. In 1938 a block of jail cells was added. The front facade features a triple arched portico topped by a classic entablature with low balustrade. As a New York City Landmark (1968) and a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places (1972), FTH is a member of NYC’s Cultural Institutions Group, is a Smithsonian Affiliate, and hosts year-round global arts and cultural programs with global arts and cultural programs.
