Artist Statement

This work represents the beauty of brokenness and imperfection. This represents my heart after suffering an abusive relationship. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold. It teaches you that your broken places make you stronger and more beautiful. When you think you are broken, you can pick up the pieces, put them back together, and learn to embrace the cracks and create true beauty.
