Flushing Town Hall is proud to present a line-up of some talented young dancers with Young Dancemakers Company, a tuition-free summer dance ensemble of New York City teens who have choreographed and will perform their own final, stunning productions.
The night will play out as follows:
6PM: Join Young Dancemakers Company for a pre-concert workshop on dance-making! Introducing elements such as tempo and relating, we will begin with improvisation activities that lead toward short choreographed dances. The workshop will be led by YDC Artistic Director Jessica Gaynor with the teen dancemakers, accompanied by YDC Music Director William Catanzaro playing live percussion.
7PM: Each student will present a self-portrait through dance, each based on meaningful personal and social themes, all the while accompanied by Music Director William Catanzaro.
