Pushing the boundaries for what a piano + bass can do together, Duo Extempore's energetic performances draw from classical and jazz virtuosity, and weave together storytelling with a contagious love of creative exploration. Their credits include Carnegie Hall, the Banff Centre (Canada), Bellas Artes Centro Cultural (Mexico), the Blue Note (Germany), and the UniJazz Festival (Czech Republic).
Their debut album Ordinary Places was created using field recordings of everyday locations as the third member in a musical trio. Evan & Nicole improvised in dialogue with these recordings, exploring the fluid boundaries between music and the ordinary sounds of life we experience each day — and exalting the familiar cycles and spaces of our shared humanity as truly extraordinary.
