You’re Actually The Last Person I Wanted To See Today

Directed by Heather Dutton, in collaboration with dancers:
Abigail Linnemeyer, Josephine Brunner, Corinne Lohner, Sabrina Canas

“You’re Actually The Last Person I Wanted To See Today” is a dance theater piece/slumber party/diary entry/place to honor and grieve our collective and individual teenage girlhood(s) through a queer lens. What were the stories we told ourselves to make sense of our queerness before we came to know it? How do we tell those stories now? This work is a collage of memories, fantasies, and worst kept secrets.

They Were Once

Presented by Mud-Movement, Directed by Jacqui M Dugal in collaboration with performers Desirée Amadeo, Tor Breen, Maxx Love, Miles Nelson, Fernando Moya Delgado.

Sound design by Jamie Amadruto

They Were Once is a dance-theatre work that explores genderqueerness through discovery, letting go, acceptance, and love from childhood memories to adulthood. Blending autobiographical elements with a reimagined future, the piece uses art as a tool for manifestation, envisioning a world of infinite possibility. The performance navigates the tension between prescribed identities and the freedom of self-acceptance, exploring how relationships shift as we confront and embrace who we truly are.

Flushing Town Hall is accessible via elevator and stairs from the street to the front entrance and from the main floor to the theatre. Please reach out if you have specific accessibility needs.
