Global Arts for Global Kids I Replay #4: Indian Dance with FTH Teaching Artist Abha Roy

While our doors are temporarily closed in accordance with COVID-19 social distancing measures, Flushing Town Hall (FTH) continues to share our global arts programming online. FTH’s master Teaching Artists offer online classes, as our free series Global Arts for Global Kids I (GAGK I) returns with the original English version and four newly translated versions: Hindi (हिंदी में पढ़ें।)Spanish (Leer en español)Chinese (以中文瀏覽) and Korean (한국어로 읽기).

The replay of this arts education series will run from January 11th, 2021 to March 11th, 2021. Students will have the opportunity to explore nine different topics every week for a total of 45 video lessons: Colombian Music, Chinese Dance, Pop-up Book Page Making, Indian Dance, Mexican Dance, African Drumming, Dance Party in the United States, Visual Signs of Gratitude, and Stories from Quarantine. Lessons are provided weekly and each week's lessons will be available every Monday on FTH’s website (can be accessed anytime) and Facebook page at 2 PM EST. Each video lesson will be accompanied by activity worksheets in the above mentioned languages.

Participants are encouraged to post short video clips of themselves learning on Facebook and tag FTH facebook page @flushingtownhall.org. This rerun series offers an additional interactive option for student enrichment: live virtual workshops “Meet the Artist” and “Jam with the Artist”.

Week #4: Indian Dance with FTH Teaching Artist Abha Roy

This week’s lessons introduce you to Indian dance led by Flushing Town Hall Teaching Artist Abha Roy. Abha is a master dance teacher and choreographer, specializing in Kathak, a classic northern Indian dance form. You may have seen her teaching youngsters in our schools or performing on stage at Flushing Town Hall with her popular Diwali Dance Party. But we join her at her apartment in Queens as we practice safe distancing. Semana #4:  Danza de la India con la maestra Abha Roy

Esta semana aprenderemos sobre la Danza de la India con las maestra Abha Roy. Abha es una experta maestra de danza y coreógrafa, especializada en Kathak, una forma de danza clásica de la India. Algunos de ustedes las han visto en los colegios públicos o en el escenario del Flushing Town Hall presentando la fiesta Diwali Dance Party. 本週的課程由法拉盛文藝中心教學藝術家阿布哈帶您學跳印度舞蹈。阿布哈是一位舞蹈大師和編舞家,是印度北部經典舞蹈流派卡薩克(Kathak)的專家。您可能已經在我們的合作學校見過她教學,或與她一起在法拉盛文藝中心排燈節舞會上起舞。在我們保持社交距離的同時,讓我們跟隨阿布哈來到她在皇后區的公寓。她介紹了一系列歡樂的舞蹈,使我們能夠探索印度文化,扮成孩子並用舞蹈來講故事! >>點擊這裡開始



 

#4 주차: 인도 무용

सप्ताह -4 भारतीय नृत्य

इस सप्ताह आपको फ़्लशिंग टाउन हॉल की मास्टर कला अध्यापिका भारतीय लोक एवं शास्त्रीय नृत्यों से परिचय करवाएँगी। आभा भटनागर रॉय नृत्य निर्देशिका, शिक्षिका तथा सृजन डान्स सेंटर, न्यू यॉर्क की संस्थापक हैं। जिनका विशिष्ट क्षेत्र शास्त्रीय नृत्य कत्थक है। उन्हें आपने  विद्यालयों के कार्यक्रमों में तथा अत्यधिक प्रचलित कार्यक्रम दिवाली डान्स पार्टी में फ़्लशिंग टाउन हॉल मैं देखा होगा। आज हम इनसे सामाजिक दूरी एवं सुरक्षा को ध्यान में रखते हुए इनके क्वींज़ के घर पर मुलाक़ात करेंगे। यह हमें कई आनंददायी नृत्यों से परिचित करवायेंगीं । जिससे हम  भारतीय लोक जीवन शैली, बच्चों का विकास तथा अन्य कहानियों को नृत्य के माध्यम से सीखेंगे। >>शुरू करने के लिए यहां क्लिक करें!
